Pulling Up a Look and Not Overdoing It!

How often have you seen girls or women dressed way too up and wondered what’s wrong with them, why do they have so much of everything up on them? I have seen that more than I would have liked to. Pairing an embellished full-body dress with heavy jewelry and loud makeup hits the eye and looks like a disaster to me. There are times when drama works; however, it needs to be balanced to look aesthetic. You do not have to try too hard all the time to look great and trying this hard definitely makes one look like (for a lack of a more suitable word) a confused clown.

I think style is a lot about balance. If you are wearing a dressy or bejeweled outfit, pair it with simple, minimalist jewelry to add class to the look. Vice versa also works beautifully. If you are wearing a solid, no-frills outfit, dress it up with suitable accessories and you pull up a sassy look. With that being said, I have seen some faux pas happening with it as well. When wearing statement necklaces, avoid wearing huge earrings with it. It takes the look from being tasteful to chaotic. Try taking off those extra rings when wearing a stack of bangles. It is just about striking the right balance of elements especially when they are worn too close to each other.

Have one focal element: either let your clothes do the talking…

Let them both do the talking and you have noise…

Aah… I do not really want to end this post with a non-example, so here goes a chic look for the love of fashion.

To sum it up, dress the way you’d like; just be mindful of what you are doing to yourself. 🙂
